Zodiac Spotlight: Cancer

General

The Sun is in Cancer from June 21 – July 21. This is the least clear cut of all signs. They tend to show a wide range of emotions from the timid and shy to the most brilliant and famous. They are conservative and appreciate the secure home environment where they can come home and relax from the stresses of life. “Nest like” is an appropriate term associated with Cancerians because they appreciate the dark, mysterious but comfortable type of house which resembles somewhat of a den.

            

They are very social but, sometimes they would rather be alone than entertaining the masses. This is often something they struggle with. The can appear unemotional and thick skinned, but once you get close to them you understand their sympathetic, sensitive natures. They are able to identify with the situation because of their vivid imaginations. They appreciate the arts, especially drama, and often have considerable talent themselves in those areas. Their down-to-earth natures often make them very interested in occult and are more open to psychic influence than the average person.

            

They can be untidy, have inferiority complexes, and sulk over insults that may not have been intended to be an insult at all. They can change their opinions often and may lack stability. They are easily corrupted and can easily stab someone in the back.

Relationships

They are usually a mix of toughness and softness. They make loyal partners, even if they have an affair (which the men are more likely to do because of his need for sensual stimulation). They consider themselves the protectors of their families. They often give of themselves and ask very little in return. They are easily swayed by emotion in the moment and influenced by those they love and admire. Women tend to like large families and enjoy being surrounded by family. They have an amazing memory for moments that are linked to emotional ties. They often recall childhood memories and can even live too much in the past to the point where a chance meeting with someone from their past can conjure up the same emotions all over again.

Health Problems

Cancer rules the chest, breasts, elbows, stomach, womb, and female reproductive organs. They commonly have problems of varicose veins, weak digestion, and gas. Although many people think this sign is more susceptible to the disease of cancer that is a myth. The sign is a derivative of the Latin word “cancer” also meaning crab. They also tend to worry a lot which plays havoc on their stomachs and moods.

Zodiac Spotlight: Aries

April: Aries

General

The Sun is in Aries this year from March 20 – April 19. This is another fire sign and I often refer to them as the “heroes” of the zodiac. They are the “Joan of Ark” women and “knight on a white horse” men. They welcome challenges and will not be diverted from their purpose except by their own impatience, which will come up quickly if they don’t get immediate results.

            Aries are courageous leaders with a genuine concern for those they command. They do not make very good followers because they are too “take charge”.  They may be unwilling to obey or submit to directions for which they can see no reason, or with which they disagree.  They are very much concerned about themselves, their personal advancement, and physical satisfaction.   

            They like to get something started and lead the way. They could be doing this in some form of leadership role or by forcing others to look at themselves in a new way.  They can accomplish this by knowingly carrying out a deliberate act in the name of some cause that moves them. A negative effect of this sun sign is that they could sometimes unknowingly make it hard for others to relate to them as they really are because it may take a while to actually let someone know them for their true feelings.

            You very rarely have to guess what they are thinking because they are bluntly straightforward. Mentally, they are intellectual and objective. Aries are god champions of lost causes and last-ditch resistance. They are quick-witted, but sometimes fool-hardly and over optimistic, lacking thoroughness and the ability to evaluate difficulties in the undertakings into which they often rush impulsively. They need to exercise self-control and discipline in order to use their characteristics to the advantage of society.

In personal relationships, they are frank, direct, and candid, and make enthusiastic and generous friends. They often have a high sex drive and make passionate but finicky lovers. They can easily be irritated by slowness and, though they are sensitive, they often forget to be sensitive to others. The intensity of their sexual urges can drive them to promiscuity and counting of conquests of their sexual partners. This might even trick them into early unwise marriage which may end disastrously. Arians are highly devoted to their children, even to the point of laying down their own lives, so that they might live. You will not find a more defensive and loving parent in the entire zodiac.

Health Problems

Because of their excess energy, they need to be sure they have proper outlets to release it all in order to balance their health positively. Aries rules the head and brain, so most of the main problems will be headaches or literally falling on their head. They are also often plagued with minor bumps and bruises because of their carelessness and need to “get it done”. Sports are likely an important part of your life. You likely enjoy the types you can go out and win and that build physical strength such as boxing, wrestling, and martial arts.

Zodiac Spotlight: Pisces

General

The Sun is in Pisces from February 18 to March 19. I have the pleasure of knowing many Pisces and although the may be all the same sign, these people are the mixed nuts of the zodiac! I’m not talking about insanity, but rather that chameleon quality where they can understand and feel everything around them. It’s like they have a special characteristic of every sign in the zodiac all meshed into one sign.

            They are very accepting and, thus, usually popular because they can get along with anyone. They patiently wait for problems to work themselves out instead of taking the initiative in solving them and tend to focus on the problems of others rather than their own. Pisceans are very intuitive and exist on a more emotional plane than rationally. With all that is happening in the world they may find it difficult to concentrate because they are constantly trying to relive other of pain and anxiety with the side affect of taking it on themselves.

            They can be oversubtle, oversensitive, and overemotional. They are gossipers and can be indiscrete. These traits don’t occur out of spite or viciousness, they just like “spreading the news”. Another great quality is gullibility, just ask my sister! I can’t tell you how much fun I had (and still have) with that characteristic.

            They work best in subordinate positions where they don’t have to worry about failing in a crisis, but rather where they can back up the manager or boss to get the desired result. They make great charity workers catering to the needy, nurses caring for the sick, and veterinarians caring for animals. They love to travel, though maybe only in their mind through fantasy and dreams. These are very creative people and often have more than just one profession.

            They are never egotistical in personal relationships and often give more than they ask from their friends. They may be very uncomfortable with a sexual partner that does not mesh with their own mind and spirit. Unfortunately they can be easily misled which may lead to heartbreak that may have been avoided if they didn’t fall so hard and fast. They are nevertheless intensely loyal and home-loving and will remain faithful – though their dreamy and impractical natures may not keep a tidy house!

Health Problems

             Pisceans have very sensitive systems and are easily affected by outside influences. They usually experience problems with the nervous system; even simple criticism may causes headaches. Pisces rules the feet, liver, and lymphatic. Some common problems include ulcers or skin diseases, especially inflammation of the eyelids, gout, heavy menstruation, and foot disorders. It’s not uncommon to react poorly to prescription drugs and there are often allergies related to many common drugs such as aspirin or antibiotics.

February: Aquarius

The Sun is in Aquarius from January 19 – February 18. Aquarians have strong and attractive personalities.  There are generally two types of Aquarians: one is shy and gentle; the other is enthusiastic and lively. Regardless of the outer presentation, they are all strong willed and seek truth above all else. They are one of the most unprejudiced and tolerant signs in the zodiac and can change their mind several times if there is evidence to support they should. They believe in seeing all sides to a story, even if they don’t agree they will still listen and are ready to learn from everyone. If anyone has had the privilege to know an Aquarian you will understand that they are unique. By this I mean they don’t follow the crowd – in fact, they don’t care what the crowd thinks and often go against them intentionally “just to be different”. They prefer not to have others interfere with their lives and will accept it only on their terms when they are good and ready. Among their faults, they may not express their true feelings to anyone they don’t trust and often make promises they can’t keep.

Relationships

In spite of their often magnetic personality they do not make friends easily. This may be because they just don’t take the time to get to know someone who doesn’t appeal to them. Others may even consider them cold because they don’t open up very easily, but once they decide you are worthy of their friendship they will give everything and be faithful for life.  Because of this all or nothing attitude, they can be disappointed when others fail to meet their high expectations. If this occurs, you will rarely meet an Aquarian who forgives easily.

Health Problems

Aquarius rules the legs from the knees to the ankles as well as blood circulations. They commonly have problems with the knees and ankles such as cramping, spasms, and nervous complaints. This sign also has an emphasis on the heart regarding circulation so they should try to stick to a low-fat diet and regular exercise in order to prevent hardening of the arteries which is common in this sign.

January: Capricorn

  Capricorn is the spotlight sign this month. Happy Birthday to anyone born Dec 21 - Jan 20. I apologize to all the Capricorns out there for not having this out earlier. After all, they thrive on structure so I could be in trouble! Capricorn is one of the most stable and serious zodiacal types. These hard working people are capable of persisting for long periods of time to accomplish the goals they have set. They think profoundly, through exploring every single possibility before deciding a “safe” alternative. They have great memories and a deep desire for knowledge. These are the type of people you always want behind you when you start a new project. They won’t necessarily come up with the new idea, but they will methodically work to get the job done. Don’t be fooled though, they are anything but boring! Their drastic mood swings can approach without warning. One minute they are witty and foolish, the next they are quiet and reserved. Never a dull moment!

Relationships

In personal relationships, they are often unhappy. They are somewhat self-centered, but usually not excessively. They tend to be guarded around people they don’t know well and, thus, no one really knows their true personality until you spend some “quality” time with them. Because of this, they rarely have more than a handful of true friends, but is intensely loyal to them. These types of people are “keepers” if you can weather the storm of getting to know them. Patience and perseverance are their middle name so stick with it and the fortune will be well worth the wait. Also keep in mind that a Capricorn is also a vengeful enemy and never forgets when someone has hurt them.

Health Problems

Capricorn rules the knees, bones, and skin so is prone to fractures and strains – especially to the knees. Another common ailment suffered by this sign is digestive problems because of their incessant tendency to worry and suppress emotions.
